True / False

Are covalent bonds always non polar?

Solution

Covalent bonds are not always non-polar. They may be polar when there is an electronegativity difference between the atoms of the molecule the shared electron shifts towards the more electronegative atom, making it slightly negative carrier and the other one slightly positive. Eg- $$H-Br$$
