Subjective Type

In a morning walk, three persons step off together and their steps measure 40 cm, 42 cm and 45 cm respeclively. What is the minimum distance each should walk so that each can cover the same distance in complete steps. ?

Solution

Given
Measure of their steps $$=40\ cm,\ 42\ cm$$ and $$45\ cm$$
To find the minimum distance covered in complete steps, We have to find the $$LCM $$ of their step size.
$$\therefore \ LCM$$ of $$40,\ 42$$ and $$45=2520$$

Hence, each should walk $$2520\ cm=25.20\ m$$ to cover the distance in complete steps.
