A sol has positively charged colloidal particles. Which of the following solutions is required in the lowest concentration for coagulation?

A$$\mathrm{N}\mathrm{a}\mathrm{Cl}$$
B$$\mathrm{K}_{4}[\mathrm{F}\mathrm{e}(\mathrm{C}\mathrm{N})_{6}]$$
Correct Answer
C$$\mathrm{Z}\mathrm{n}\mathrm{Cl}_{2}$$
D$$\mathrm{N}\mathrm{a}_{2}\mathrm{S}\mathrm{O}_{4}$$

Solution

A sol has positively charged colloidal particles. $${ K }_{ 4 }\left[ { Fe\left( CN \right) }_{ 6 } \right] $$ is required in low concentrations for coagulation.

According to Hardy Schulze rule, the ion having a positive charge to sol particles cause coagulation and greater the valency of the oppositely charged ion more is the coagulating power.
